With Soda Aquatic Center temporarily offline, the Yolo Water Polo Club turned a potential setback into an unforgettable adventure. On a sunny day in San Francisco, we packed up our gear and headed to Aquatic Park, nestled beside the iconic Ghirardelli Square. The result? A day of water polo fun and community spirit that truly captured the essence of our club.
Athletes from across our programs—ranging from our youngest water warriors at age 7 to seasoned players who (gracefully) prefer not to reveal their age—-came together for this unique road trip. We dropped a couple of inflatable goals into the calm waters of the Bay, transforming the historic Aquatic Park cove into a vibrant water polo arena. Surrounded by the picturesque city skyline, it was a practice unlike any other, filled with laughter, competition, and plenty of splashes.
The day wasn’t just about water polo; it was about building connections and creating memories. Parents cheered from the shoreline, siblings dipped their toes in the water, and post-practice, everyone gathered to enjoy the sights and treats of Ghirardelli Square.
