Kevin Friedman has extensive water polo coaching experience in the Bay Area. He has excelled as head coach for players as young as four through high school and adults. In addition to his coaching experience, Kevin brings his earned MBA skills to local nonprofits, serving as President and Parliamentarian for over 6 years.
Kevin has created Yolo Polo using his well-established links to the local aquatics community, and his experience navigating the logistics involved in running a youth and masters’ athletic program.
John brings his years of experience as President of Sun Valley Pool Board of Directors to Yolo Polo’s Board. He has knowledge of rules and regulations surrounding issues such as liability and accident prevention, in regards to aquatic facilities.
Jeff has served as the OMPA Treasurer for over 4 years. This has given Jeff the insight and experience with our local high school district administration that will be invaluable to Yolo Polo’s success. Jeff is very active in local organizations, and has experience as a Div. I water polo player and youth coach.
Katie has served on 4 local nonprofit board of directors as president, as well as other positions. In addition, Katie was the chairwoman for a nonprofit swim team of over 300 swimmers for three years. She is a former Div. I water polo player with coaching experience as well.
Corey was born in Maryland and raised in Orinda. For over 20 years, she has overseen operations with Buchanan Investments, while also being an active participant in local non-profits. Corey has extensive experience with Lafayette school’s parents’ clubs, preschool co-op boards, and recreational swim team boards. And now, Corey is throwing caution to the wind and jumping into masters water polo!
Kyle was a Div. I water polo player at Cal Berkeley. Professionally, Kyle is a director with Castle Crow. Recreationally, he has taken his talents to the golf course, while still active in the community within the public schools, recreational swimming and youth water polo circuits.
John played water polo and swam at Cal Berkeley. He has decades of coaching experience at all levels, including club, high school, and college winning multiple championships. He was named California State high school Coach of the Year in 2022. Coach Roemer is a retired Captain of the Oakland Fire Department and has been married to his wife Paula for 40+ years. They have 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
