Quarter 1: Response and Resilience

Lamorinda opened the scoring with two quick goals, but Yolo’s defensive resolve kept them in the match. Tristan (#6), starting in the cage, anchored the defense early with a point-blank block at, showing great positioning against a Lamo drive.

Yolo’s offensive spark came at when Declan (#2) found the back of the net with a high-corner shot following a patient possession. The pressure continued as Jack (#5) demonstrated excellent awareness, finding a gap in the Lamo defense for a clinical finish at. At the end of the period, Justin (#8) fired a skip shot at that beat the Lamo keeper to keep Yolo within reach at 5-3.

Quarter 2: Defensive Grit

The second period was defined by tactical adjustments and defensive intensity. Justin (#8) provided a defensive highlight at with a perfectly timed steal on the perimeter, stripping the ball and initiating a counter-attack.

Justin capped off his strong play at by finishing a fast-paced drive to the goal, receiving a lead pass and slotting it home with power. While Lamo managed to extend their lead to 8-4 by the half, Yolo’s ball movement and unselfish play were evident throughout the frame.

Quarter 3: The Yolo Rally

The third quarter saw Yolo orchestrate their most significant push of the game. Liam (#15) ignited the team at with a powerhouse goal from the center position, using his strength to hold off a defender before burying the shot.

Moments later, at, Tristan (#6) notched his second goal of the match—a clever lofted shot that caught the Lamo goalie off guard. This 2-0 run brought Yolo within two goals (8-6), forcing Lamo to call a timeout to recalibrate. Though Lamo managed to score late in the period to make it 10-6, Yolo’s energy and “grit” were the story of the quarter.

Quarter 4: Clinical Precision

In the final period, the physical nature of the game increased, but Yolo remained focused. Declan (#2) showcased his poise under pressure at, stepping up to the 5-meter line and converting a penalty shot with absolute precision to bring the final score to 12-7.

Defensively, Jack, having moved into the cage, made several critical saves late in the game, including a diving stop at that prevented a Lamo extension. Yolo continued to fight until the final buzzer, with a final timeout at showing the team’s determination to execute until the very end.
